The skin is the largest organ in the human body, much more complex than it appears and with many functions relevant to the proper functioning of the body. Its main function is protection from external threats and immune functions, ie, is the main organ regulating the heat, which protects against dehydration. It also possesses features nervous, being the sense of touch and metabolic disorders, such as production of precursors of vitamin D.
However, like all other organs of the body, the skin undergoes changes over time and can age prematurely, with the loss of elasticity and luminosity, and the emergence of wrinkles and sagging. But not only the chronological aging that causes the skin's appearance change over the years. Factors such as stress, smoking, and especially solar radiation directly influence their state, may cause the appearance of spots, cones, roughness, among other signs of premature aging. The aging process begins in the skin, in fact, in the epidermis (set of cells covering the dermis and with it form the skin) with the lower layers. The number of cells that slough off the skin starts to decrease for the change of cell renewal. There is a decline in hormone production and skin dryness is starting to show.
